Dylan Smith is a Los Angeles based visual artist with a concentration in illustration, painting and mixed media. His colorful and textured pieces are inspired by childhood drawings of women in both his personal life and pop culture. Smith has created two pieces of public art through the Palm Springs Public Arts Commission. His first work through the City of Palm Springs, was the “Downtown Bench Project” in which the City commissioned artists to revitalize existing benches in town. Subsequently, he was selected to paint a large scale window activation at 479 East Tahquitz Canyon in downtown Palm Springs.

Dylan exhibited his art and apparel at GBK Productions Exclusive Pre-Academy Awards Luxury Talent Lounge this past March at The Beverly Wilshire Hotel and recently closed a number of successful solo shows at the Art of Elysium, Wallspace LA, the Connie Norman Transgender Center and at Art Queen Gallery in Joshua Tree, California.

In late 2020 to much success, Dylan launched a line of apparel with his original artwork printed on garments ranging from sweatsuits to t-shirts. His line can be found at GBK Grand Bar at the Kimpton La Peer Hotel, POP DTLA in downtown Los Angeles and Queertique in Palm Springs.

Smith’s image was recently licensed by the City of West Hollywood to represent National Coming Out Day in October 2022.Formally trained as a professional dancer, choreographer and teaching artist for overtwenty years, Dylan is thrilled and excited to be delving into a different foray of the art world.
